Wonderlights Presents: The Magic of Winter 2023
Guests weere dazzled by Ireland's largest ever light show, as Wonderlights returned to Malahide Castle from November 10th 2023 - January 2nd 2024.
'Amidst the crisp winter air, immerse yourself in The Magic of Winter where life flourishes in unexpected ways. Witness the wondrous transformation of nature as it comes alive with vibrant colours and magical creatures. Marvel at the captivating dance of light that illuminates the darkness, creating a symphony of beauty and wonder.'
The 2023 show featured brand-new stunning displays that left our guests in awe, alongside some of our beloved classics that have captured hearts before, the experience had something for all ages.
Visitors were treated to an all new Alpine Festive Food Village where they could sample some tasty treats and festive snacks, and warm up from the winter warmer bar, with mulled wine, hot chocolate, Bailey's Coffee's and spiced apple cider.

2022
Wonderlights returned to Malahide Castle and Gardens for winter 2022. Presenting a brand new show, guests were welcomed on a journey through 'The Night Sky', with a galaxy of light installations.
Guests embarked on a sensory adventure to the Northern Lights, the route taking them from the beautiful Irish Countryside, across the Northern Seas, through the Arctic Forest and onto the spectacular Northern Lights with lots of surprises along the way. The experience continued with some fantastic scenes of ‘The Night Sky’ from Meteor Showers to the Cosmos, guests could even create their own Shooting Stars!
An international team of talented creatives curated this spectacular new show. Significant investment in state of the art technologies and dazzling displays ensured returning guests were super impressed. The 2022 show matched the best in class - globally, in immersive lighting experiences.
Wonderlights is an enchanting event for all ages. Perfect for all the family, couples and groups of friends, attendees will enjoy stunning light displays and immersive projections for a sensory experience like no other. The route is fully accessible to wheelchair users, and buggies / prams are welcome.
Following the awe inspiring journey through the illuminated gardens, guests can purchase a hot drink or bite to eat from our Woodland Food Village - food markets included: Griolladh, BBQ Swing Grill, The Rolling Donut, Sprinkles Desserts, Angelo's Pizza and Winter Warmers.

2021
After the hugely successful inaugural show at Palmerstown House Estate, Wonderlights returned for 2021with a new show and a new venue. Presenting 'Castle of Light' at the stunning and historical Malahide Castle & Gardens in Dublin.
A magical mix of light, colour & nature was showcased at Ireland’s most beloved historical Castle & Gardens. Our team of talented creatives brought the venue alive with stunning lighting displays and immersive projections.
Wheelchair and pram friendly, this fully accessible route was the perfect evening activity for all the family. Wonderlights also made for a unique atmospheric backdrop for an after-work wellness experience for couples and friends.
Guests meandered through the captivating displays at a leisurely pace, immersed themselves in nature and embraced the great outdoors. Following the awe inspiring journey through the illuminated gardens, guests could grab a hot drink or bite to eat from our vendors in the Woodland Village.
Wonderlights was the perfect, safe outdoor activity while during this challenging time with covid-19. We safely welcomed over 80,000 guests to our 'Castle of Light' show in 2021.
PALMERSTOWN HOUSE ESTATE
2019
Wonderlights launched in 2019 as a brand new unique experiential event, guests embark on a night time walk by festival light highlighting the local countryside, wildlife and Irish folklore.
In 2019, guests joined us for an enchanting wander by night where we showcased a captivating array of light in one of Ireland's most prestigious venues.
Our team of talented creatives put together a fascinating display of light over a two km walk, which was fully accessible and suitable for all the family. Guests journeyed through beautiful woodland areas of Palmerstown House Estate in Johnstown, Co. Kildare and found themselves immersed in old Irish folklore tales.
This magnificent, multi-sensory experience saw the Irish countryside come alive with 1000's of lights, state of the art technologies with stunning visuals and projections to create a unique atmospheric backdrop for an evening wander.
Guests were encouraged to take time out from their busy lives to relax, connect with the outdoors, spend quality time together, while of course getting their steps in!
The event began in October 2019, in the first of our venues - the beautiful Palmerstown House Estate in Johnstown, Co. Kildare. Due to popular demand, extra dates were added in January 2020.
